Since 1998 the Interfaith Food Bank of Amador County, California, has offered food to local families in need. 12181 Airport Road, Jackson. Open Monday 12-4 pm, Tuesday 11-3 pm. WIC provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women. Also to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. Meets in Luther Hall 9 am - 4 pm on the first Wednesday of odd-numbered months. Support the needy in our area by helping to stock the collection basket in the Narthex (lobby). We always need:
Donate new infant clothing, disposable diapers and baby wipes to the Baby Basics Box, placed by "First 5 of Amador," in the Faith Lutheran Narthex (lobby). This is a joint project by many Amador County Churches.
Please take or leave a book in the Little Free Library located in the church parking lot near the amphitheater. New books arrive weekly!
Faith Lutheran initiated and assisted in developing a gravity feed drinking water system for several villages in Papua New Guinea. The work was completed and not only did the project provide water, but it united the villages and prompted them to work together on other cooperative projects.
